Learn how to set up and manage your chart of accounts in ServX Pro.

Account Types

Assets

Resources owned (cash, inventory, equipment)

Liabilities

Amounts owed (loans, payables, accruals)

Equity

Owner's interest (capital, retained earnings)

Revenue

Income earned (sales, services, interest)

Expenses

Costs incurred (COGS, wages, utilities)

Cost of Sales

Direct costs of goods sold

Creating an Account

  1. Navigate to Financial → Chart of Accounts
  2. Click "New Account"
  3. Enter account code and name
  4. Select account type (Asset, Liability, etc.)
  5. Choose parent account if creating sub-account
  6. Set currency if multi-currency
  7. Configure additional settings
  8. Click "Save"

Account Structure

Organize accounts in a hierarchical structure:

1000 - Assets

1100 - Current Assets

1110 - Cash

1120 - Bank Accounts

1130 - Accounts Receivable

1200 - Fixed Assets

1210 - Equipment

1220 - Vehicles

Tips

  • Use consistent numbering for easy navigation
  • Don't delete accounts with transactions - deactivate instead
  • Review chart structure with your accountant
