Resources owned (cash, inventory, equipment)

Owner's interest (capital, retained earnings)

Income earned (sales, services, interest)

Costs incurred (COGS, wages, utilities)

Creating an Account
- Navigate to Financial → Chart of Accounts
- Click "New Account"
- Enter account code and name
- Select account type (Asset, Liability, etc.)
- Choose parent account if creating sub-account
- Set currency if multi-currency
- Configure additional settings
- Click "Save"
Account Structure
Organize accounts in a hierarchical structure:
1000 - Assets
1100 - Current Assets
1110 - Cash
1120 - Bank Accounts
1130 - Accounts Receivable
1200 - Fixed Assets
1210 - Equipment
1220 - Vehicles
Tips
- Use consistent numbering for easy navigation
- Don't delete accounts with transactions - deactivate instead
- Review chart structure with your accountant
