Creating a Product
- Navigate to Inventory → Products
- Click "New Product"
- Enter product name and description
- Set SKU/barcode for identification
- Select product category and type
- Set pricing information (cost, selling price)
- Configure units of measure
- Upload product image (optional)
- Click "Save" to create the product
Product Information Fields
Basic Information
- Product Name - Display name
- SKU - Stock keeping unit
- Barcode - Scannable code
- Description - Product details
Classification
- Category - Product group
- Brand - Manufacturer
- Type - Inventory/Service/Kit
- Tags - Search labels
Pricing
- Cost Price - Purchase cost
- Selling Price - Retail price
- Wholesale Price - Bulk price
- Tax Rate - Applicable tax
Inventory
- Track Inventory - Enable/disable
- Reorder Point - Low stock alert
- Reorder Qty - Suggested order
- Unit of Measure - Pcs, Kg, etc.
Product Types
Inventory Item
Physical products with stock tracking. Quantities are managed across warehouses.
Service
Non-physical items like labor or consulting. No inventory tracking required.
Kit/Bundle
Combination of products sold together. Components are deducted from stock.
Tips
- Use consistent SKU naming conventions for easy searching
- Set reorder points to prevent stockouts
- Keep product images updated for POS identification
